St Vincent de Paul PS

Saint Vincent de Paul Primary School is a co-educational school situated on the Ligoniel Road in North Belfast. It is placed within the heart of the Parish which it serves and its elevated site provides some stunning views over Belfast and beyond. The school opened in 1970 and caters for the needs of the children of St Vincent de Paul parish. There are currently 188 boys and girls enrolled in the school with an additional 26 in our nursery unit. St Vincent de Paul PS is currently staffed by a principle, 8 classroom teachers, a full time SENCO and a teacher in charge of the Nursery unit. In addition there are 5 classroom assistants and a nursery assistant. The caretaker, secretary, cleaning, dining and supervisory assistants complete the complement of staff. All of the staff are highly motivated and dedicated to ensuring that the highest quality of care and educational opportunity is provided for all the children within the school. In September 2002 a new, spacious, modern nursery unit offering 26 full time places opened and is over-subscribed each year. In response to this a playgroup was opened in November 2006 and has proved to be very successful. 16 full time places (9.00 a.m. – 12 noon) are available for children between the ages 2 years and 10 months and 4 years.
