St. Patricks, Legamaddy

We are a rural primary school, situated in the Parish of Bright. The school is housed in a modern building, opened in 1983 and enjoys a pleasant situation on an attractive site.

The majority of pupils come from the surrounding area which includes parts of the parishes of Bright, Downpatrick and the Ballykinlar area of the parish of Tyrella and Dundrum, although some have enrolled from further afield.

Current Enrolment: - 176

The well kept accommodation comprises 8 classrooms, activity area (for science, art/craft and TV), staff room, assembly/physical education/dining hall and a meals kitchen.

The current teaching staff is Principal plus 6 full-time assistant teachers and 2 part-time teachers.  

The wide range of experience and expertise therein is put to effective use in a well developed school organisation. Regular meetings of the staff contribute to the smooth running of the school.

The clerical staff, caretaker, cleaners, lunchtime supervisory assistants and school meals staff complete a team dedicated to the education and welfare of the children entrusted to their care.
